It might be cold this weekend, but here's a few events to keep you busy and some of them are indoors

Eggs-hibition, Preston Park Museum, Eaglescliffe, runs until April 15

An eggs-quisite eggs-hibition of… you guessed it… eggs!

View hundreds of unique egg-shaped sculptures, designed and made by local schools and community groups.

Over the last few weeks, these groups have been hard at work, creating these individual egg-shaped sculptures for display here at the museum. Come along and find egg-sactly your favourite egg.

BIG Little Gigs Rocks The Library, Darlington, on Saturday, 4.15-5.30pm 

The library will be full of live music courtesy of the brilliant 'Sole Groove' who will be be performing Soul and Funk classic tunes to get you up and enjoying a dance.

Rebecca and her band are a “must see” live act that often leaves newcomers simply blown away by the power of the performance. 
With her co-writer Steve Birkett alongside her, a very tight band behind, and Rebecca’s powerful voice to the fore, the five-piece outfit performs original rock/blues tracks from the EP Real Life, the highly-acclaimed debut album Back To The Start and the superb second album Believe, punctuated by a few classic covers.

Bushcraft survival skills training weekend, Hamsterley Forest

Bushcraft survival essentials with top northern bushcraft instructor, Bruce Ferguson, with over 30 years bushcrafts experience.

You’ll learn the key skills needed to survive: how to build shelters from natural materials for varying conditions, a range of useful knots and a number of different tarp set ups, how to light a fire including techniques for difficult conditions and fire by friction, how to manage a fire and cook on it.

You’ll go on a wild food forage, explore plants useful in bushcrafts including medicines and natural cordage and learn how to ensure a supply of safe water. 

You’ll sleep out in the tarp shelter you make and cook your breakfast on the fire in the morning. For more information call 01388-529154. 

Witches and Wizards, Durham Castle, on Sunday, 1-4pm

Enjoy a FREE day that celebrates all things magical at Durham Castle Castle. Celebrate all things magical, with a free dragon egg hunt, crafts and guided tours.

This event is completely free, with fancy dress encouraged. Craft activities in the Great Hall, and mini-family fun tours of the castle at 1.15, 1.45, 2.15, 2.45 and 3.15 (places on the tours are limited and will be allocated on a first come basis).
