VOLUNTEERS who are creating a memorial garden in Bishop Auckland have been offered free plants for the project.
Bishop Auckland and Coundon In Bloom will donate £500 of plants to the Bishop Auckland Garden of Remembrance, at Albert Hill.
Michael O'Neill, who is leading the initiative to transform an unused patch of former railway embankment and disused allotment into a tribute to the town's war fallen, thanked the group.
