Durham University has announced plans to cut £15m from its operating budget.
A COMMUNITY engagement event, which was to be hosted by Durham University on Friday, has been postponed because of bad weather. A new date for the University and City: Growing Together event, which had been due to take place at the Town Hall, in Market Place, will be announced as soon as possible.
A university spokesman said: "This decision was not taken lightly, and was reached on safety grounds following close consultation with Durham County Council and Durham Police.
"The university remains committed to dialogue with our local communities and we will announce a new date for the event as soon as possible."
