BUSINESSES are urged to get up to speed with the Tour de Yorkshire to make the most of added tourism.
Hambleton District Council is issuing postcards to around 400 companies listing the ten top tour tips.
The initiative aims to increase race knowledge, adapt opening times and dress businesses in yellow and blue.
It is hoped by working together and following these tips there will be more visitors – and trade – to the district.
Iaen Bell, owner of Venture Cycles in Thirsk, said: “The race will be an enormous boost for Hambleton – everyone should work together to increase the profile of the district.
“This is an amazing coup – the race will bring top riders to our district for the third time.”
Riders will race through Hambleton on May 5 – visiting Crakehall, Bedale, Morton-on-Swale, Northallerton, Thirsk and Sutton-under-Whitestonecliffe before heading up Sutton Bank for the finish line in Scarborough.
