YOUNG people in a North Yorkshire town are being sought for a three-week training and coaching course to kick-start their careers.
BT is on the look-out for 15 people in Northallerton aged 16 to 24 who are not currently in education, employment or training to take part in a free work placement.
The course provides them with hands-on work experience and training and teaches skills such as CV writing and interview techniques.
Attendees are given a certificate showing their achievements to demonstrate their commitment to prospective employers.
The next work placement in Northallerton begins on February 5 at BT’s Northallerton depot on Darlington Road.
The first week will be mainly office-based, focusing on developing practical skills such as customer service, following by a week shadowing employees and the final days will be spent on mock interviews, creating stand-out CVs and developing individual plans to find employment or return to education.
