A WOMEN’S group used their crafty skills to raise money for a good cause recently.

Members of Pimms and Needles, which has branches across the region, rallied together to create a variety of items for a ‘handmade with love’ tombola.

The group’s founders, Charlotte Pyrah and Donna Feeney, said they were overwhelmed with the support after receiving a variety of creative donations for their stall, which was set up at a charity event held at Hurworth Grange recently.

The event – which raised a total of £1937 - took place in aid of Joseph’s Dream, which was set up to support the family of a Middleton St George child with complex needs.

Through their crafty tombola, members of Pimms and Needles contributed £70 to the cause.

Ms Feeney said: “We were amazed at the generosity and support of our members.

“We had so many donations, from beautifully knitted baby toys and clothes, jams, cushions and handmade cards and jewellery.

“It was a lovely way to raise money.”
