A WARNING has been issued by police in Barnard Castle following a report of a call made by a man claiming to be a Durham Police PCSO.
Following a brief conversation the caller was said to have asked for £60 to help fund a magazine being produced by the force.
On Facebook, Barnard Castle Police today (November 16) wrote: “Please be aware that Durham Constabulary would never ask members of the public for money or bank details over the phone and are in no way associated with this type of magazine.
"No legitimate organisation would expect anyone to give out personal details over the phone, if ever in doubt do not give out personal details.”
