The rain failed to dampen the 20th Multisol School's Tennis Event, July 2-4th, 2007.

With most other sporting events being affected by the horrendous weather it was thought that the event might not go ahead with it being an outside tournament. However indoor facilities were made available and the Under 13 & 19 final took place in the indoor courts at Puma Tennis Centre, Sunderland. Whilst David Lloyd Teesside hosted the final of the under 15 girls, which started off inside but was finished off outside.

Winner. Egglescliffe, Stockton.

Runner Up. Sedgefield, County Durham.

The winners are the 2007 County Champions and they receive £100, which is donated by Multisol. The award for the Most Sporting School Award' went to the Under 15 Teesside High Girl's team.

As tournament organiser Helen Weston excitedly mentioned, "This is the 20th year of the Multisol School's event and the amount of pupils we attract is a real testament to the enthusiasm shown from the school's to get involved in tennis. This year's event showcased a number of talented youngsters from around the area, including Charlotte Pepper of Norton who recently won the Junior Road to Wimbledon' County competition and will be going down to play on the world famous grass in a few weeks time!"
