VANDALS on a quad bike have caused "significant damage" at a golf course which had been hailed as "immaculate".
The quad bike was driven across the Oakleaf Golf Course, in Newton Aycliffe, ploughing up fairways and smashing a gate overnight on Sunday.
Great Aycliffe Town Council, which owns the 18-hole course, said the Horndale area was also affected.
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
