FIVE school pupils received a prize from Aldi for having an outstanding attendance record.
The new Aldi store in Bishop Auckland opened its doors last November and Woodhouse Close Junior School pupils helped with the official opening ceremony by singing for customers.
The store teamed up with the school's attendance initiative and offered a share of £100-worth of vouchers for those who took no days off during the academic year.
Area manager Katie Warren presented Gemma Brown, Charlie Baynham, Sarah Bailey, Stuart Collishaw and Kayla Mason with goodie bags, along with a voucher for their parents to spend at the store in Watling Road.
Acting headteacher at Woodhouse Close, Shirley Welsh, said: "Maintaining a full attendance record is a superb achievement."
