BONFIRES and firework displays are taking place across the region this weekend. Here are all the times, places and information you need to plan your bonfire night fun

COUNTY DURHAM

BARNARD CASTLE: Sunday, November 5, Cross Lanes Organic Farm, from 6pm, bonfire lit at 6.30pm and fireworks at 7pm. Free return shuttle buses from Morrison’s carpark in Barnard Castle from 5.45pm. BBQ, hot drinks and bar available. Advance tickets from Cross Lanes are £6 for adults, £4 for children or £18 for a family, or £7 for adults, £5 for children and £22 for a family ticket on the gate.

BEAMISH: Monday, November 6. Beamish Hall Hotel. From 5.30pm to 8pm, bonfire and fireworks with music from a samba band. Tickets £5 per person, under threes go free. £5 per car.

BISHOP MIDDLEHAM: Friday, November 3, Bishop Middleham Park at 6.30pm. A funfair will open and refreshments will be available from 6pm. Tickets are available for residents of Bishop Middleham and Mainsforth from Bishop Middleham Post Office.

CHESTER-LE-STREET: Sunday, November 5. Riverside Park. Gates open 4.30pm, fireworks at 6.30pm. Entry is £5, children under six are free.

CHESTER-LE-STREET: Saturday, November 4. Chester-le-Street Cricket Club in Ropery Lane. Gates open at 4.30pm with the display at 6pm. Tickets £4 for adults and £2 for children, aged two to 12, and concessions.

CONSETT: Saturday, November 4. Consett Football Club. Gates open at 5pm, firework display at 7pm. Entry £2 for adults and £1 for children. There will be children’s rides, food, drink and a licensed bar with a DJ and music before and after the display.

DARLINGTON: Sunday, November 5, The Northern Echo Arena. Event starts at 5pm. Tickets are £8 for adults, £4 for under 16s and £20 for a family ticket of two adults and up to two children from the arena, the Dolphin Centre and 01325-350267.

DARLINGTON: Sunday, November 5, Darlington Railway Athletic, Brinkburn Road. The event starts at 6pm. Entry costs £2.

DURHAM: Saturday, November 4. From 6pm with the display starting at 7.30pm. In aid of St Cuthbert’s Hospice Framwellgate School with children’s fairground rides, hot food and drinks. Advance tickets (adult £5, 15 and under £3, two and under free) are available online www.stcuthbertshospice.com or at any St Cuthbert’s Hospice shop. A limited number of tickets will be available on the night at a cost of £5 per person.

NEWTON AYCLIFFE: Sunday, November 5, Oakleaf Sports Complex field, 7.15pm. A children’s playground will be open from 5.30pm and the beacon will be lit at 7pm. The event is free but those attending need a wristband. Wristbands are available to anyone living in the parish of Great Aycliffe from the Oakleaf Sports Complex until Thursday, November 2. Proof of address must be shown.

PETERLEE: Saturday, November 4. Helford Road, Peterlee. Fun fair from 4pm, children’s entertainment from 5.50pm onwards, fireworks at 6.30pm.

SEAHAM: Friday, November 3. Dock Top (in front of Asda). Event starts at 7pm.

SEDGEFIELD: Friday, November 3, Ceddesfeld Hall grounds, 6.30pm. The grounds will be open to the public from 5.45pm with the last admission at 6.20pm. Tickets cost £2.50 for adults and £1.50 for under 16s and are available from Sedgefield Town Council offices, Ceddesfeld Hall and Tickety Boo. A pumpkin competition will be held before the fireworks. Entries should be brought to Ceddesfeld Hall car park between 5.45pm and 6pm. The winner will be announced at 6.15pm.

SPENNYMOOR: Sunday, November 5, High Whitworth Playing Field, 6pm. Entry is free and by ticket only. available from the Town Hall reception. Only open to residents of Spennymoor.

STANLEY: Saturday, November 4. Oakies Park, Stanley. The event starts at 5pm with the science fiction-themed fireworks display at 7pm. Free entry. Gates open at 5pm. There will also be music from Conner Middleton as well as fancy dress competitions, stalls and refreshments. Admission to the Stanley Town Council-funded event is free.

TOW LAW: Saturday, November 4, Sports Centre, in Naismith Grove, 6pm for 6.30pm start. Fireworks display for residents only. Wristbands are required and can be bought from Cathys, The New Market and Tow Law Community Centre priced at £3 each or £10 for a family of four.

NORTH YORKSHIRE

BEDALE: Saturday, November 4, Bedale Park. The bonfire will be lit at 6.15pm and the fireworks will begin at 7pm and will last around 20 minutes. Novelties and catering is available from 5pm. Free entry.

CATTERICK GARRISON: Saturday, November 4, Plumer Road sports field, 6pm. There will be a funfair and food vendors on site. Free entry.

EASINGWOLD: Saturday, November 4, Easingwold Maze, 6pm. There will be live music from Silver Forest Disco and DJ Zak Zuul. Entry £3.

HARROGATE: Saturday, November 4, Harrogate Stray at Oaklands Drive near St Aidans School, 6pm. Free entry.

HAWES: Sunday, November 5, Hawes Community Field, 6.30pm. A £5,000 firework spectacular choreographed to music. Free entry.

LEYBURN: Friday, November 3, Leyburn Shawl play area, 6.30pm. There will be plenty of food such as hot dogs and soup, drink stalls and novelty shops. Free entry.

MALTON: Friday, November 3, Malton Cricket Club, 7.15pm. Tickets, available at the gate, are £4 for adults, £3 for under 16s, and £10 for a family ticket (two adults, two children).

NORTHALLERTON: Sunday, November 5, Applegarth Park, 5pm until 8pm. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the bonfire and firework display. The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm with the fireworks at 7pm. Food and drinks stalls will fill the park and entertainment on the stage will feature the Northallerton Rock Choir. Free entry.

REETH: Sunday, November 5, Reeth village green. The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm with the fireworks staring at 7pm. A barbecue is available throughout the evening. Free entry.

RICHMOND: Sunday, November 5, Middleton Lodge Estate. The bonfire will be lit at 6pm with the fireworks display starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are £20 per car. Call 01325-377977 for more information and to book tickets.

RIPON: Friday, November 3, Ripon Racecourse. Gates open at 5.30pm, the bonfire will be lit at 7pm and the fireworks will begin at 7.30pm. Adults £5 (£6 gate), children £2 (£3 gate), family ticket £12 (two adults and two children) and children under three are free. Call 01765-530530 to book.

THIRSK: Saturday, November 4, Thirsk Racecourse, 7pm. Gates open at 5pm and there will be stalls, food, music, rides, entertainment and fireworks. Tickets are £10 for family (two adults and two children – pre-book £8), adults £5 (pre-book £4), children £3 (pre-book £2) and under fives are free. They can be bought at Johnson’s Butchers, Thirsk Information Centre and Thirsk Garden Centre.

YORK: Saturday, November 4, Rawcliffe Country Park. Gates open at 5pm, the bonfire will be lit at 7pm and the fireworks will begin at 7.30pm. There will be live music, a laser show, fairground rides and refreshments. Tickets are £10 adults, £5 children and under 5’s are free.

YORK: Sunday, November 5, York Maze, 4.30pm until 10.30pm. Tickets must be booked at the website in advance.

YORK: Sunday, November 5, Poppleton Centre, 5pm. There will be a bar, live music and a hog roast. Adults £8, children £3 (age five to 16) and under fives are free.

TEESSIDE

HARTLEPOOL: Sunday, November 5, Seaton Carew Front, Hartlepool. Fun fair from 4pm, entertainment and music from 5pm. Fireworks display 6.30pm. Free.

MIDDLESBROUGH: Sunday, November 5, Acklam Rugby Club, Talbot Park, Saltersgill Avenue, Middlesbrough. Bonfire lit 6pm, firework display 7pm. Tickets £5 adults, £3 children, £10 family ticket (two adults, two children) available from the club.

MIDDLESBROUGH: Friday, November 3, Marton Cricket Club, Stokesley Road, Marton, Middlesbrough. Firework display 7.15pm, adults £4, under 16s £3. Advance early bird family ticket £10 (Two adults, two under 16s). Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

NEW MARSKE: Wednesday, November 1. Marske Sports Club, 7.30pm. Entry is £3 each or £10 for a family of four.

REDCAR: Sunday, November 5, Corus Sports and Social Centre, South Avenue, Dormanstown, Redcar. 7pm (gates open 6pm). Entry £1.

REDCAR: Friday, November 3, Redcar Rugby Union Football Club, Mackinlay Park, Green Lane, Redcar, 6.30pm. No onsite parking. Tickets are available from the club. Adults, £4 (concessions £2), family tickets £10.

SKINNINGROVE: Saturday, November 4, Skinningrove beach and seafront, 6.30pm. Entry is free.

STOCKTON: Sunday, November 5, Stockton Riverside. Roadshow from 6.30pm. Firework display 7.30pm. Free.

THORNABY: Saturday, November 4, Thornaby Cricket Club, Mandale Bottoms, Acklam Road, Thornaby. Firework display 7.15pm. Tickets on sale from the cricket club Monday-Friday 7.30pm, Sat-Sun 12.30pm. Adults £3, under 16s £1.50, family ticket £7 (two adults, two under 16s).

TYNE AND WEAR

GATESHEAD: Saturday, November 4. Saltwell Park. Event starts at 5pm with live music and a fairground. Bonfire and fireworks display at 7.30pm. Admission is by wristband, priced £3, available from Gateshead Leisure Centre and customer services at intu Eldon Square. No admission is available on the night.
