IF Graeme Storm thought his Open Championship nightmare couldn't get any worse then his second round ended in further disappointment today.

After finishing Thursday with a frustrating seven over par, the Hartlepool golfer suffered more embarrassment at Carnoustie.

Despite making an impressive birdie at the first hole, Storm's woeful form continued and he ended up posting an 80 - nine over for the round.

That meant the 29-year-old finished towards the bottom of the leaderboard with a grand total of 16 over for two days golf.

Clearly frustrated, Storm seemed incapable of picking himself up and finished with a harrowing record of four bogeys, two double bogeys and one triple bogey.

As Storm, who now faces an early return to his hometown after missing out on a place in the weekend's play, entered the clubhouse, Tiger Woods was suffering from his own major problems.

The world number one, who had started on two under, has gone back to one over for the Championship after shooting three over through 11 holes.

Sergio Garcia, back in the clubhouse, remains ahead of the pack on six under par, one shot clear of Korean KJ Choi.
