CRASH investigators are continuing to trawl through evidence from over a hundred people who witnessed the horrific bus crash in Hartlepool last week.

The two most seriously injured youngsters are still recovering in James Cook University Hospital. One of the 12-year-olds is described as poorly but stable while the other is improving slowly.

One of the boys suffered a serious head injury, while the other suffered abdominal injuries, after the pair were trapped under the Mercedes minibus.

Officers from Cleveland Police road traffic unit are still working through the fine details of what happened when the school bus careered into students leaving English Martyrs School last Wednesday.

The school was left shocked when 22 students were injured when the bus left the road, smashed through a fence and hit a tree.

The driver of the bus was interviewed following the accident but no charges have been laid against him.
