A NORTH-EAST teacher has received a prestigious national honour for her dedication and commitment to the profession.
Lynn Green of Fullwell Infant School Academy, in Sunderland, win a Gold Award for Lifetime Achievement at the Pearson Teaching Awards, presented by British actor Daniel Mays during a glittering ceremony held at the East Wintergarden in London last night.
Ms Green was nominated for the accolade by pupils, parents and colleagues from her school for her outstanding commitment to the generations of children she has taught and the colleagues she has worked with for nearly 40 years.
Her practice has been described as “totally child-centred.” She values each individual child in her care and provides them with an education specifically tailored to their needs, to ensure that they all prosper, thrive and succeed to reach their potential.
As a national lead teacher for gifted and talented children, Ms Green has also visited China to research practice and is often invited to speak at conferences.
