A SCHOOL has planted more than a thousand flowers in memory of a parent who died from cancer earlier this year.
Teachers and pupils from St Patrick’s Primary School in Thornaby, near Stockton, planted the daffodil bulbs in memory of Emma McDonald , who died from brain cancer in August.
Her family started off the planting, whilst children and teacher all wore yellow - Ms McDonald's favourite colour - raising more than £500 for charity.
The special day finished with a talent show - led by Ms McDonald's daughter Summer - who performed a A Thousand Years by Christina Perri and Kylie Minogue's Do the Locomotion, with the help of all of her class mates.
