PUPILS at a primary school have been enthralled by the music and dancing of an Indian brass band.
Members of the Jaipur Kawa Brass Band were at Beamish Primary School, near Stanley, where they entertained children from key stage two.
Acting headteacher Diane Abbott said: "The group performed for the children and taught them about the music and culture of India.
"The children really had a fantastic time. The band played music and a fakir entertained them with juggling. He also hung a 5kg weight from his eyelid on a hook."
The children then played music on their own trumpets.
The band was visiting the region as part of Brass: Durham International Festival.
