DID you see the Harvest Moon last night?
The name given to the first full moon rising closest to the autumnal equinox, it rose late this year.
The name Harvest Moon dates from when farmers needed brighter light to gather crops, and the full moon allowed them to work for longer in preparation for winter.
Our first photo was taken by Steven Liversedge.
"The photo was taken about 7.30pm last night at the eastern edge of Gainford looking east," he said. "I used my Canon 760d with 10-18mm canon wide angle lens.
"The aperture was approx f5 and shutter speed around 1/4 of a second from memory."
Sure, Taken about 7.30pm last night at the eastern edge of gainford looking east. Used my canon 760d with 10-18mm canon wide angle lens. Aperture was approx f5 and shutter speed around 1/4 of a second from memory. Focus isn't great sadly!
Skies are forecast to be clear again on Friday evening so why not grab your camera?
