YOUNG entrepreneurs of the future have been helping people in the world's poorer countries while turning in a profit.
Pupils at Crakehall CE Primary School, near Bedale, took part in the Young Enterprise at Work scheme, which challenged them to make a product they could sell.
They decided to bake fudge, but had to prove the project was economically viable, investigate the cost of ingredients and carry out market research and publicity.
The school bank lent money to buy the ingredients and enterprising youngsters who sold the results inside and outside the classroom found that they had made a £70 profit.
The money was sent to Christian Aid, which will use it to help buy a goat for a village in one of the world's poorer countries.
