THERE were attractions for all ages at this year's Bedale summer festival.
The event combined the annual gala of Bedale Scouts and Guides with a battle of the bands and a rock concert.
The day began with a parade of decorated floats by Scouts and Guides through the town.
This year marked the centenary of Scouting and there was a display of memorabilia, including a tent and sleeping blanket from the Twenties with a diary of the camping exploits of their owner. An art display by pupils of local primary schools was held in Bedale Hall. In the battle of the bands, Rise From the Ashes beat challenges from Roaring At Large Fish and Original Sin.
The evening ended with performances by local bands Epic, Toyshelf, Whitefire, The Conspirators and Petty Theft.
