GOLFERS will swing into action tomorrow in memory of a dedicated fundraiser and family man.
The David Bosomworth Champagne Trophy will be held at Wynyard Golf Club, near Billingham.
Mr Bosomworth died, aged 59, in August 2005, after suffering for many years with a brain tumour.
The proceeds from the event will be shared between The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, and Guisborough Hospital.
Mr Bosomworth's widow, Jacqueline, said: "We held a golf day last year, which raised £5,000 for the holistic cancer care centre at James Cook, and decided to do it yearly.
"As David spent the last four months of his life on the Chaloner ward at Guisborough, we thought it would be really nice to do something for the team there, who were marvellous.
"We were also very conscious to keep whatever money we raised local, and decided to divide the money we raised this year with the training fund at James Cook, which will be used for a local research project into brain tumours."
About 30 teams are expected to take part in the event, which also includes a raffle. Anyone interested in entering a team of four - costing £300 per team - can call 01642-355613.
