A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of arson following a house fire yesterday afternoon.
Durham police have today confirmed that officers arrested a 20-year-old man for suspected arson with intent to endanger life following the blaze in Spennymoor.
The terraced property on Park Parade was gutted by the fire which emergency services were called to at about 4.15pm yesterday.
All occupants had managed to leave the property and nobody was injured during the incident, which was dealt with by around 5.35pm.
A joint investigation by Durham police and County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service is ongoing.
