A MAN has appeared at court in relation to a number of knifepoint robberies in Darlington.

Danny Oxley, 26, of Haughton Road, Darlington, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with three counts of robbery, one attempted robbery and three counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

He did not enter any pleas and was remanded in custody.

Samantha Hill, 31, of Haughton Road, Darlington, also appeared at court to face one count of handling stolen goods.

The charges relate to incidents in North Park and Haughton Road in which the victims were threatened with a knife before having their mobile phone stolen.

She was also remanded in custody.

They will both appear at Teesside Crown Court on September 26.
