WE'RE blessed with lots of beauty spots here in the North-East and Aysgarth Falls in the Yorkshire Dales is one of the highlights.
A triple flight of waterfalls, surrounded by forest and farmland, the falls were carved out by the tumbling River Ure.
They caught the eye of legendary artist Turner, who visited in July 1816, and were one of the locations for the film Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves, starring Kevin Costner.
If you've never been, it's really time you paid a visit and our walks expert Mark Reid is pointing the way this week.
Be prepared, particularly after lots of rain, and make sure you're equipped with a water-proof jacket and stout shoes.
Mark takes has written 17 successful walking guidebooks, including the acclaimed ‘Inn Way’ and ‘Walking Weekends’ series covering all of the national parks of Northern England.
He is also a Mountain Leader and Outdoor Instructor and offers map reading courses, navigation skills weekends, guided walks and outdoor adventures in the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District and beyond.
