THE Police Interceptors were called to deal with a riot when a group of young people descended on Darlington's fire station.
Thankfully, it was all part of a family fun day to give people a look behind the scenes of how the emergency services work together on a daily basis.
As part of the event PC Jeff Summerhill showed 11-year-old Ryan-James Warne the equipment used by riot police during a disturbance.
While six-year-old Jack Vasey came to the event on Saturday all dressed for the occasion and ready to make any arrests that may have been required.
The emergency services open day took place at the town’s fire station and police station over the weekend.
And the event included demonstrations from riot police and Crime Scene Investigation, tours of the custody suite and meet and greets with Durham’s Police Interceptors.
One of the most popular attractions across the two-day event were the emergency services vehicles with young people taking the opportunity to climb inside and have a seat behind the wheel.
Throughout the event there was also demonstrations from the fire service and the North East Ambulance Service, as well as funfair rides and stalls for all of the family to enjoy.
