ONE of Yorkshire’s best-known brass and woodwind concert bands will provide a distinctly British summer sound for visitors to the North York Moors as it tours the National Park for three days in August.

The Collingham Band from near Wetherby will be playing at four venues between Friday 18 and Sunday, August 20, raising money for charity during the tour.

They will first perform at Hinderwell village hall on the evening of August 18 with a concert at 7pm that will raise funds for the local Neo-natal unit.

On Saturday the band will give passengers on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway a treat as they play at Goathland Railway Station. Then in the afternoon they will perform in a marquee at The Moors National Park Centre at Danby. Both concerts will raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

On Sunday the final concert will be in Whitby bandstand to entertain visitors to Whitby Regatta.

Entry to the Moors Centre, and other outside venues, is free and there is no need to book. The Hinderwell concert costs £3 on the door.
