A COUNCIL is searching for people who can help both children and adults with additional needs on their journey to school or elsewhere.
Passenger assistants provide support for Darlington Borough Council-run transport services across the borough.
They must have spare time on their hands and be polite, passionate and supportive.
A spokeswoman for the authority said: “We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and flexible people.
“We would welcome interest from people who have experience of working with those who have additional needs.
“But the council is keen to hear from anyone who may be interested and would ask that they give us a call to talk over what the role requires.
“We are aiming to add to the bank of casual staff we have who can assist vulnerable adults and children in getting to various locations during the course of the day."
Anyone who may be able to help is asked to call the council’s transport services department for an informal discussion.
They can be contacted on either 01325-405904 or 405905.
