FAMILIES were invited to experience the magic of illustration with expert guidance on Wednesday.
Youngsters tried their hand at the technique with help from Cleveland Art and Design College illustrator Sharron Bates, at The Witham, in Barnard Castle.
The session follows the art centre’s The Magic of Illustration Exhibition which included a collection of illustrators including Bagpuss and Simon and the Witch Illustrator, Linda Birch, Darlington-based Liz Million, Matt Swan, Rupert Bear illustrator Stuart Trotter, and Sharron Bates and Catherine Beaumont.
Arts marketing manager, Sarah Gent, said: “Thank you to the wonderful Sharron Bates for bringing us a lovely intimate creative workshop.
“It was delightful to see those participants having such a good time creating their individual collage illustrations.
“I know the grownups enjoyed it as much as the kids.”
The free exhibition finishes at 4pm on Saturday. For more information visit thewitham.org.uk or call 01833-690150.
