PASSENGERS travelling from Newcastle International Airport are being offered a new connection following the installation of Wi-Fi.

The new system gives travellers free internet access and includes an optional premium service for anyone requiring super-fast bandwidth.

It has been delivered by Gateshead-based firm Aspire Technology Solutions and Extreme Networks, which provided the management platform, hardware and access points which were installed across the airport.

They also worked with Wi-Fi Spark, who developed a system so people can connect easily.

Steve Duchar, IT manager at Newcastle International Airport, said he was “delighted to now offer free Wi-Fi for all of our passengers.”

He said: “Our goal is to be the UK’s most welcoming airport, our customers journey begins as soon as they arrive and we are constantly striving to improve the customer experience.”
