FULL planning permission is being sought to build new homes on a former builder’s yard.
Gary Gibson, from Bishop Auckland, hopes to build three detached houses on a site near Shittlehopeburn Farm in Stanhope, 100 metres west of the A689.
Outline permission was granted to build the homes on the site on December 19 2013, with the layout, scale, appearance, access and landscaping all reserved.
However, the three year deadline to submit the reserved matters has lapsed so Mr Gibson has submitted a full planning application.
The houses have been designed to be in keeping with other buildings in the area, and will be accessed from an existing adopted road off the A689.
Members of the public can comment on the application online at durham.gov.uk until Tuesday, August 22.
