THE Spennymoor Boxing Acade- my Annual Presentation Night was held at Whitworth Hall,Spen- nymoor.

M.C.and entertainer for the night was Johnny Mac The Knife,and Spennymoor 's full squad of 24 box- ers received club caps from ABC Scaffolding rep Isabelle Hagar.

A special award was presented to Alan Heron for Unsung Hero,for his fund-raising efforts.Best Rookie Award went to Jake Daly,the Royce Carson Best New Prospect Award went to Cory Gallant.The Most Courageous Boxer Award went to Chad Ellis.The Best Junior Trophy went to Jack Coglan,Boxer of the Year 2007 went to Garry Dodds.

The night was a huge success and coach Robbie Ellis said:"200 people have turned out to honour all boxers tonight.

"I 'd like to thank all our tremendous sponsors and also Wayne Baister of Berties for presenting tracksuits to Reece Ellis and Stuey McCrone.

"It 's been a great season with two national champions,Ben Jackson and Jack Coglan,and also a ground breaking tour of Australia.

"I 'm looking forward to next sea- son,where I 'm convinced we will pick up more titles,and embark on more tours abroad,this club is now massive in the boxing world and I aim to keep it there."
