RESIDENTS in Barnard Castle have been assured a water leak will be fixed on Monday.
Engineers from Northumbrian Water were working in Galgate yesterday in a bid to find the cause of a problem which left customers with a reduction in water pressure, discolouration or both throughout the morning.
It was the second time in two weeks that the water supply had been disrupted following a leak near the County Bridge.
A Northumbrian Water Group spokeswoman said engineers had identified a leak near the Trinity Methodist Church and a full repair would be taking place on Monday.
She said there would be no interruption to the water supply or any traffic management in place.
She added: "Customers can help us by looking out for any potential leaks that they notice and can report them to us by calling 0800-393084.
“We are working closely with any vulnerable customers affected to ensure we are supporting them. Updates can be found on Twitter @nwater_care and we thank customers for their patience.”
