A SCHOOL band hopes to enjoy regular overseas trips after its first international tour hit the right note.
Spennymoor School Band travelled to Germany last month to perform two concerts in the Cologne region.
They enjoyed the tour so much they are now looking forward to a repeat trip, hopefully in 2009.
Head of music Alistair Hamilton said: "The audiences were really good. We played in nice venues and the band performed really well. They got a lot out of the trip, they were able to perform on different stages, gained confidence, formed new friendships and worked well as a team.
"The pupils enjoyed it and got to see a new part of the world and a different culture. The staff were impressed by them."
To help raise funds towards the trip, pupils staged a sponsored 24-hour music marathon and a concert for parents.
