A housing company is consulting villagers regarding proposed plans for a housing development.

Gladedale wants to build 23 houses, ranging in size, at a site in Evenwood, near Barnard Castle.

Villages will be able to view the plans in a portable sales office at the side of 19 Chapel Street, on Friday, from 2pm to 6pm, on Saturday and Sunday, from 11am to 5pm, and on Monday, from noon to 6pm.

Members of the Gladedale team will be on-hand to answer questions.

Gladedale managing director Len Worsfol said: "We are committed to bringing much-needed housing to Bishop Auckland and we are working closely with Teesdale District Council to ensure that our plans meet the aspirations of the local community.

"The proposed development is sure to be an asset and provide much-needed regeneration to the area. The exhibition will allow members of the community to view the details of the proposals and to have their say."
