A CENTENARIAN is loving her life as friends and family helped her celebrate he 100th birthday at the weekend.
Marjorie Martin, who spent her working life as a secretary and shorthand typist, was all smiles when she received her birthday card from the Queen.
And the resident of Gardens Care Home, Pond Field Road, Darlington, was delighted to share a slice of her birthday cake when they held a special party for her on Friday.
She said: “I really like it here – I was living independently until around a year ago – but I really like it here.”
Mrs Martin, who lost her husband Eric 60 years ago, celebrated her birthday with her niece Linda Martin.
