STAFF were angered after finding their school had been broken into over the weekend.
A spokeswoman for Hurworth Comprehensive School in Darlington said it was hard to comprehend the kind of people who would target a school.
The school was broken into at around midnight on Saturday, June 24.
Culprits smashed a ground floor window to get into the building before fleeing empty-handed upon being disturbed by an alarm.
The spokeswoman said: “We don’t expect our school to be broken into and we don’t have the money to go around replacing broken and damaged things as a result – everything adds up.”
- Anyone with information is asked to contact Darlington Police on non-emergency number 101.
- Alternatively, they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
