A PICTURESQUE cottage garden will be opened to the public next week to raise funds for charity.
Fran Toulson, of Warrenfell Cottage, Wolsingham, is one of many gardening enthusiasts in the region opening their gardens as part of the National Garden Scheme’s summer programme.
A stone’s throw from Tunstall Reservoir, the garden features an array of unusual plants, along with shrubs, perennials, roses and peonies in the alpine section. There is also a wild flower area and a kitchen garden.
- The garden will open on Saturday, July 1, and Sunday, July 2, from 10.30am to 4pm.
- Hartside Nursery will be running a plant stall at the event and Cornerstone, a homelessness charity, will be selling handmade garden furniture. The owner will also be selling plants and homemade teas. Warrenfell is located at 2 Filter Cottages, Wolsingham, Dl3 3LX.
- Admission is £3.50 for adults and free for children. Money will be raised for NGS’ chosen charities.
