AN energy sector manpower and equipment provider has hit an operational milestone.

STS Resources and Technology is celebrating ten years in business.

The Middlesbrough-based company employed just two people when it was founded in 2007.

However, it has grown significantly over the last decade, with bosses revealing it has turned over £19m and supported the employment of more than 3,000 people on 165 projects.

The firm operates predominantly in the oil and gas sector, providing riggers, rope access technicians and scaffolders primarily on construction and refurbishment projects in Norway.

It also provides habitat systems for controlled hot work maintenance onshore and offshore, which has seen it work on significant contracts for BP, Statoil, and Shell.

Paul Hancock, managing director, said its landmark was a real achievement.

He added: “We are delighted to be celebrating our tenth anniversary and I’d like to thank our customers and staff for their commitment over the past decade.

“From the outset we’ve been lucky enough to work with some fantastic customers, for whom we will bend over backwards to meet any challenge.

“Equally, we’ve been fortunate to have attracted highly-skilled staff who really know their stuff, allowing us to meet and exceed our customer’s requirements.”

Mr Hancock said the business, whose services have equated to more than 460,000 man hours over the last ten years, was committed to adding to its industry standing.

He added: “I’d like the business to keep ahead of industry developments and continue to be a leading provider to the sector both in the UK and in new markets overseas.

“Ultimately we want to continue to be a business that people want to work for and do business with.”
