A SUITCASE exploded after it was set on fire at a hospital during an argument.
Police and fire were called to Bishop Auckland Hospital this morning.
"We were called at 7.05am this morning to a domestic incident where a suitcase had been set on fire on the walkway outside Bishop Auckland Hospital," said a spokeswoman for Durham Police.
"Colleagues from County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service also attended and extinguished the fire.
"The suitcase is believed to be owned by a couple who were seen arguing outside the hospital. It contained property including aerosol cans, which exploded once the fire started."
