POLICE in North Yorkshire are appealing for information after the death of 14 sheep who are thought to have been chased by dogs.
The sheep, 11 ewes and three lambs were found dead in a field close to the A64 road at the top of Golden Hill, near Huttons Ambo, between Malton and York at 9.15am on Thursday June 8. They had been seen the day before by the farmer, at 6.30am when they were fine.
It is thought they were chased round the field by dogs causing them to become distressed and run into boundary fences. Police say anyone who saw the sheep being chased or who has information which could help them find out what happened is asked to contact them on 101 select option two and ask for PC 168 David Meer or email david.meer@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.
