A MAN was headbutted in what is believed to be an unprovoked attack on a train.
British Transport Police say they would like to speak to a man in connection to the alleged assault, which happened on a train travelling between Durham and Darlington at around 10.30am on Saturday, May 13.
A 24-year-old man from Middlesbrough was on the train when he approached by a man who pushed him in the chest and then head-butted him, before walking down the carriage to rejoin a group of friends.
Detective Inspector Mick Jackson said: “We believe this was an unprovoked attack which has left the victim with bruising and swelling to his cheek.
“I would like to speak to the man captured on CCTV in connection with this assault. Who is he? If you know him please contact us.”
