STUDENTS are getting ready for their final production before leaving college.
Performing arts students at New College Durham are putting on a show of musical Sweeney Todd from June 6-8.
Lewis Pattison, 18, from Durham, is taking on the lead role before taking up a place at the London College of Music in September.
Charlie Moore, 17, plays the lead female character Mrs Lovett. She is planning to study level 3 dance at New College before going to ArtsEd in London to study Musical Theatre.
The production is directed by Lauren Pitt and James Hedges.
Ms Pitt said: “It’s not a usual show that you would choose for a college performance due to the intricacy of the score, however, the students are extremely hard working and this production will challenge them in a number of ways.
“It is an opportunity for them to showcase their abilities and demonstrate the talent coming out of the North-East.”
Performances will take place at 7pm from June 6-8, with a 2pm matinee of June 8. Tickets are available from the college.
