A FESTIVAL celebrating some of the greatest names in music is in full swing in Bishop Auckland.
The Wannasee Festival kicked off at the town’s Heritage Park last night with hundreds of people turning out to watch 1960s band The Moondogs, plus a Green Day tribute.
The party continued this afternoon when acts inspired by legends such as Adam Ant, Duran Duran and the commitments took to the stage.
Heavy downpours failed to dampen spirits and excitement is building for the headline tribute acts, Queen and Coldplay who are set to perform later tonight.
Tomorrow can expect performances paying tribute to the likes of Thin Lizzy, Kasabian, R.E.M and The Who.
