A LITTLE boy with a rare muscle wasting disease has inspired two fundraising events in the region.
Ryan Chidzey, three, from Gainford, County Durham, was diagnosed
with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in January and his parents are determined to raise £50,000 to help find a cure.
An Elvis tribute night, organised by Ryan’s grandparents, May and David Petty, at Darlington Club and Institute, raised £600 for Muscular Dystrophy UK at the weekend. PPG Aerospace in Shildon, meanwhile, held a successful Tamla Motown evening in aid of the charity.
So far, Our Fight For Ryan has raised more than £13,000. To donate visit justgiving.com/campaigns/charity/muscular-dystrophy/ourfightforryan
