THE National Championships of one of the fastest growing sports is returning to County Durham next month.
Newton Aycliffe is hosting two British Championships roller derby matches on Saturday, May 13 when Durham Roller Derby will be taking on Wakey Wheeled Cats of Wakefield, who are currently in second spot in the Northern league.
On the same day, Durham City Rolling Angels will be taking on York Minxters, who are one place above them in the league.
The matches will be held at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre at 2pm and tickets are £5.
The doors open at 12noon.
Both Durham teams, which play in the fourth tier of the championship, are yet to win a match this season having lost their two opening games.
Durham Roller Derby are in fourth spot in the league, while Durham City Rolling Angels are sixth.
