PEOPLE living across Stockton Borough are invited to a free advice event next week.

A pop-up shop will be in Billingham Town Centre to offer independent and confidential guidance relating to money, welfare benefits, fuel, energy, community protection as well as employment and training.

‘Just Ask…Billingham Advice Week’ has been arranged by the Northern Locality Forum and Stockton Borough Council in partnership with a range of agencies including Stockton & District Advice and Information Service and Thirteen Housing Group.

Councillor Steve Nelson, Stockton Borough Council’s cabinet member for access, communities and community safety, said: “We know many families could benefit from speaking to these organisations and that by doing so they could pick up some tips on how to better maximise their family’s income.

“This event has been arranged to raise awareness of the services available to all our residents so they know where they can seek guidance both now and in the future.”

The pop-up shop will be based at Unit 53, Queensway, Billingham Town Centre between Tuesday, April 18 and Friday 21, when other agencies including Cleveland Police, domestic abuse charity Harbour and the Illegal Money Lending team.
