A MAN has been arrested after a police community support officer was threatened with a knife and had their bike stolen.

North Yorkshire Police said the PCSO was confronted by a man in Crombie Avenue, York, at 3pm on Wednesday and the robber made off on the bike marked up with North Yorkshire Police branding.

The force issued a warning to the public not to approach the man, who was described as wearing black clothing.

Police tweeted around 5.30pm to say they had found the bike and a man was arrested shortly afterwards.

Police have urged anyone who saw the incident or has seen the man to contact them on 101.
