THE case of a man charged with the robbery of an air rifle worth £1,500 has been sent to crown court.
Jason Hanley, of Ullswater Crescent, Crook, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court today.
The 23-year-old is accused of being one of three people who entered the home of a man in Willington on February 20 and robbed him of the air rifle
The case was sent to Durham Crown Court where the defendant is due to appear on Friday, March 31.
Represented by Paul Donoghue, Mr Hanley appeared from custody and entered no plea.
He was granted bail on the condition he resides at home, is subject to an electronically monitored curfew from 7pm to 7am, reports daily to Crook Police Station, does not enter Willington and does not contact prosecution witnesses.
