A VIDEO of a pizza-wheeled takeaway van driving towards a dancing superhero has been causing a stir online.

Gusto Takeaway and Cafe, of Newton Aycliffe, posted footage of its bright yellow delivery vehicle - complete with a chilli on top - heading towards someone dressed as Spiderman, advertising the town's new Domino's store.

The video on Facebook has attracted more than 4,000 views and a takeaway boss has promised a "sequel".

Chris Bennett, a partner for Gusto, said: "It's just a bit of light-hearted banter. We gave him a box of chips. It's gone a bit crazy."

The takeaway's Facebook page initially pledged to chase the superhero figure if a post got 11 likes.

They wrote on Saturday: "100 likes and the 'cheese mobile' will go and chase dancing dominos Spider-Man down the path near the blue bridge."

Just one hour later they posted the video, claiming it had been taken and driven along the path before being returned to the business.

Mr Bennett told The Northern Echo if a post of a shortened version of the footage receives 1,000 likes they will stage a "kidnapping" of one of their delivery drivers dressed as Spider-Man.

Police in Newton Aycliffe have received no reports about the video.
