A TASTY looking business opportunity has arisen at one of the region’s best loved tourist attractions.
Durham County Council is searching for an experienced caterer or restaurant owner to manage the cafe at Killhope Lead Mining Museum, in Weardale.
Local businesses people who might be interested in applying to run the restaurant at the museum are invited to Killhope on Monday, February 27 to have a look around and hear more about the site before the tendering process begins.
Killhope is a multi-award winning museum in the centre of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where visitors experience and learn about the life and work of lead mining families.
Famous for its iconic working waterwheel, the venue attracts visitors with its stunning landscape, art installations, lead mining history, walks and wildlife.
Businesses that can provide good value and locally-sourced food for the growing visitor numbers can find out more or book a place on the open day with Maria McArdle on maria.mcardle@durham.gov.uk or 01388-537505.
