A BUSINESS is helping young girls discover their dream prom dress by recycling them from other youngsters.

The Dress Agency, in Barnard Castle, is gearing up for its seventh season selling pre-loved prom dresses.

Business owner and image consultant, Leah Hobson and her team sell ladies day wear, menswear and retro items.

They take dresses in good condition and sell them at affordable prices to help all girls go to their prom in style no matter what their financial circumstances are.

The original owners also get a portion of the profit.

Browsers are welcome and girls are encouraged to just have a bit of fun trying out different styles.

Mrs Hobson said the shop is now accepting new dresses and there are more than 100 to choose from.

“This is our seventh year doing it now and there’s definitely a demand for it,” she said.

“We are just doing it to help the girls sell them from the year before and helping to make i affordable for the next lot of girls because some people do not have the hundreds or even thousands of pounds to spend on a dress and a lot of people just don’t want to spend that much or they want something a little bit different because we offer retro and vintage dresses too.”

Mrs Hobson added: “The atmosphere in here has no pressure and girls are welcome to come in and have a bit of a try on.”
